MYOB

SmarteBuild connects to Xero today. It does not connect to MYOB yet. We are building the MYOB connection for builders who ask for it, so the way to get it is to tell us.

Asking for it

1. Open Integrations in the top bar of any page and choose MYOB.
2. Say where your MYOB file is kept — Online, On my own computer, or Not sure.
3. Add a note if there is anything we should know, then press Tell SmarteBuild I want MYOB.

That sends your request to us with your name and company, and we will contact you about timing. The menu then shows the date you asked. Asking costs nothing and commits you to nothing.

What it will be

Supplier bills and purchase orders sent from SmarteBuild into your MYOB file, against the right account, supplier and job, so nothing is typed twice — the same job the Xero connection does.

What it will cost

A$49 a month, including GST, as an add-on to your plan. There is no set-up fee. Nothing is charged until the connection is switched on and working for you.

Xero stays included in the Builder plan. MYOB is an add-on because MYOB charges us to connect to it.

Online or on your own computer

This is the question that matters most.

• An online file — you sign in to MYOB in a browser, or your AccountRight file is stored in the cloud — can be connected.
• A file kept on your own computer or office server cannot be reached over the internet, so SmarteBuild cannot connect to it. It would need to be moved online with MYOB first. If that is you, still ask: we will talk you through what is involved.
