Final check

When an estimate is finished, press Final check on the BOQ. It checks the whole estimate and lists what is missing or looks wrong. It changes nothing. It is on every plan, with nothing to switch on.

• The software’s own checks, straight away and free: lines with no price, a quantity of 0, or a quantity of exactly 1 on a line priced per m²; quantities that are out of date; formulas that cannot be worked out; flagged lines; a line twice in a cost code; lines switched off; no markup; a contract price that differs from the estimate.
• QBCC and QLeave: whether each line matches the published rates for this estimate, is missing, is switched off, or has GST charged twice on the premium. Queensland only; a project in another state is not checked. A duplex or several dwellings pay a premium for each, so the figure does not apply to those.
• Against your own jobs, once you have three with a floor area: a cost code they nearly always have and this one does not, and the biggest differences in price and quantity.
• To fix comes first, then Worth a look, biggest money first. Open line opens the line, and This is fine stops it being raised again on this estimate.

Read with AI

The software checks run as soon as the panel opens. For a second pair of eyes, press Read with AI, beside Check again. In about a minute it finds what a checklist cannot see, such as work this house needs that nothing pays for, the same work under two names, or a quantity that does not fit the house. These findings are marked AI. Check them against the estimate: they are a second pair of eyes, not a sign-off.

• What it costs: usually under A$1 of AI credit. The line under the buttons shows the credit left.
• Seeing it again is free. The read is saved, so it shows again for nothing until the estimate changes. Change the estimate and Read with AI comes back.
• No credit left: the button is greyed out. An administrator can buy more.
• What it sends: the lines and measurements. Never the client’s name or the address.

What it cannot do: it has not seen your plans, so it cannot say the quantities match them. Nothing found does not mean nothing is wrong.
