Messages on the phone
Available onBuilder
The mobile app carries the same chats as the desktop. What is written on site is what the office reads, and the other way round.
Tap Messages on the project’s Home screen for that job’s chats, or switch to All jobs at the top for every chat across your jobs. The Home tile shows your unread count for the job; a chat’s badge turns orange when you were mentioned. The bell in a chat’s header mutes it; the info button lists who is in it and, for a group, lets you leave.
Writing
Section titled “Writing”Type and send. The camera button takes a photo or picks one from the library and sends it
straight from the site; # links a defect, purchase order or variation to the message. @
mentions someone (the names pop up as you type), and the microphone in the message box is the
app’s talk-to-write dictation, so a long message does not have to be typed.
Long-press a message to reply to it, or to delete your own within an hour. Scroll up to load older messages.
Notifications
Section titled “Notifications”The phone tells you when a message arrives in a chat you are in, unless you muted that chat. A mention always gets through. Tap the notification to open the chat. Nothing is sent for your own messages, and nothing while you have that chat open.
Notifications need the app’s permission the first time; if you said no, the phone’s settings for SmarteBuild turn them back on.
New group
Section titled “New group”New chat on the chat list starts a direct message with one person, or a group: a name, the people, and optionally the job it belongs to. Starting a direct message with someone you already chat with reopens that chat.
