Gmail and Google
If your business runs on Gmail or Google Workspace, SmarteBuild can send from your Google mailbox.
Set it up from Integrations in the top bar.
Two ways
Section titled “Two ways”The Google connection, authorised against your Google account. No password stored, and mail appears in your own Sent Mail.
SMTP, using smtp.gmail.com. Works, but needs an app password — see below.
The connection is the better option where it is available, for the same reasons as Office 365.
App passwords
Section titled “App passwords”If you use SMTP against Google, you cannot use your normal account password.
Google blocks plain password sign-in from third-party applications. You need an app password, generated in your Google account’s security settings, with two-step verification switched on first.

Sending limits
Section titled “Sending limits”Google Workspace limits how many messages an account can send in a day.
That matters when sending a large tender round — twenty invitations at once can trip it, and the symptom is that some send and some do not.
If you send tenders in volume, spread them across the day or check your plan’s limit.
What it sends
Section titled “What it sends”Everything SmarteBuild emails on your behalf — orders, tender invitations, variations, claims and notifications — from your own address, so replies come back to you.
Per user
Section titled “Per user”Each user connects their own mailbox. An order from a particular estimator should come from that estimator’s address.
Deliverability
Section titled “Deliverability”If mail sends but consistently lands in recipients’ spam, your domain’s SPF and DKIM records probably need updating to authorise sending on your behalf.
Worth doing once, properly. It is a DNS change, and the alternative is tender invitations quietly not being read.
Test it
Section titled “Test it”Send yourself one order after setting up, and check it arrives, comes from the right address, and carries your signature correctly.
